Rock Mapper is an easy-to-use app for paperless geological and geotechnical mapping and grade control. It allows for rapid acquisition of georeferenced rock face photographs as well as 3D LiDAR scans.
Data is collected and processed directly on an iPad Pro while at the rock face. With a simple press of a button, data can be shared via the Rock Mapper Cloud and is instantly accessible from anywhere in the world. Compared to traditional, paper-based workflows that require manual transcription and digitisation later in the office, Rock Mapper’s standardised and fully digital workflow are able to drastically reduce turnaround times, while simultaneously enhancing data quality and consistency. Most importantly, all collected rock face data are compatible with 3rd-party 3D modelling software packages (such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac, Micromine, Datamine, Deswik) and grade-control databases (such as acQuire, EarthSQL Quest, MX Deposit).
